ICOM IC-7110

The Icom IC-7110 arrives as the direct successor to the legendary Icom IC-7100.

This device is the latest SDR-based (Software Defined Radio) all-mode mobile/shack transceiver, officially introduced at the Tokyo Ham Fair on August 29, 2026, following its earlier showcase as a secret concept under the codename X-026.

The most revolutionary change lies in the design of the control head (detachable control panel), which is now far more modern and slim, and equipped with comprehensive connectivity features to meet operational needs—whether for mobile use in a vehicle or as a "shack-in-the-box" setup at home.

IC-7110 Key Specifications

Frequency Coverage & Modes: Supports HF, 50 MHz (6m), 144 MHz (2m), and 430/440 MHz (70cm) bands. Specifically for the European (EUR) version, the radio also covers the 70 MHz (4m) band. Supported modes include SSB, CW, RTTY, AM, FM, and the D-STAR DV digital mode.

Transmit Power (Power Output): Delivers 100 Watts of power on HF/50 MHz bands and 50 Watts on VHF/UHF bands.

Color Touchscreen: Equipped with a 4.3-inch full-color touchscreen that supports a real-time spectrum scope, high-resolution waterfall display, and audio scope. The screen and button backlighting feature automatic dimming.

Dual Reception (Dualwatch): Features independent receiver circuits enabling true dual-watch capability. You can monitor two frequencies simultaneously—such as HF+HF, HF+VHF, or HF+UHF.

Connectivity & Modern Features

Dual USB Type-C & Internal Soundcard: Includes two USB-C ports (one on the main body and one on the control panel). Thanks to the built-in sound card, you can connect the radio directly to a laptop for digital modes like FT8 using instant preset configurations. Integrated Wi-Fi & Bluetooth: Supports dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz / 5 GHz) for online firmware updates and mobile app connectivity, as well as Bluetooth for wireless headsets.

Internal Decoder: Features a built-in decoder for CW (Morse Code) and RTTY modes, allowing for on-screen decoding without the need for an external computer.

Ethernet (LAN) & GPS Ports: Includes a built-in LAN port to support remote control systems (remote shack) using Icom RS-BA1 Version 2 software, along with an internal GPS for the automatic repeater finder function.
